Angier Joint Use Park - San Diego, California
When it comes to site amenities, our goal is to assist our customers in completing their environment or facility. That is why we offer a variety of items that complement each other. Think of it as a puzzle in which each type of amenity is a piece in that puzzle. A campground is a great example of how concrete amenities can be added. Concrete picnic tables and fire rings are a popular combination in an individual campsite. Picnic tables, barbecues, benches, trash/recycling receptacles, and outdoor recreation equipment provide a well-rounded group area in a campground. Add in a concrete sign at the entrance, and you have long lasting amenities that don’t require the maintenance associated with other product types.
Another type of environment that benefits very well from concrete amenities is a school. One of our recent projects involved providing concrete amenities to Angier Joint Use Park, located in San Diego. This park is located on a portion of the Angier Elementary School grounds. Although it is part of Angier Elementary School, the public is allowed to use the park for recreation. Many improvements were made including basketball courts, drinking fountains, landscaping, and concrete amenities. We were able to provide picnic tables (including tables for ADA compliance), benches, trash and recycling receptacles, and a custom sign. The picnic tables were placed under a shade structure that covered the group picnic area. The tables were a combination of our models #109 and #112. Our model #112 provided the park with the required ADA compliance for tables. Trash and recycling receptacles were also placed at the park. The receptacles were equipped with heavy duty rain hats to keep water out. The trash cans included a cast in City of San Diego logo (also painted). The recycling receptacles had engraved recycling artwork, distinguishing them from the trash receptacles. Together, they were located in several areas of the park, providing the public and students an area to dispose of trash properly. Throughout the park, benches were provided near the courts for ample seating. The park also has a custom sign at the entrance. The sign displays the City of San Diego seal and Park and Recreation logo. The sign also features an integral curved cap, multiple textures, and a base to add height to the sign.
All of these amenities provide the park with a complete environment that is easily maintained with minimal costs involved. No matter what type of facility or environment you may have, precast concrete amenities are attractive, functional and durable. We understand the need for items that will outlast other competing types, even in the harshest of environments such as schools.
